Italian Style Artisan Wines

 

One thing is certain in wine making, to make really good wine, you must use really good fruit.  We are very fortunate in the use of the fine Washington State wine growing areas of the Wahluke Slope, and Yakima Valley.  We have selected these two areas for our wine grape sourcing because of the terrior offered.  The Wahluke is one of the hottest growing areas within the state.  Typically our wines from here offer bright crispness, minerality, and an austerity of fruit.  The Yakima Valley is a cooler climate, typical harvests are 2 weeks later than the Wahluke.  This longer hang time for the grape clusters often results in a more fruit forward wine.  All of our vineyards offer a strong sense of place with the Terrior.

Lewis Vineyards - Yakima Valley AVA
Lewis Vineyard is located southeast of Prosser in the Yakima Valley AVA. While getting very hot in the summer Lewis Vineyard has the distinction of a higher elevation, with a gentle southern slope, allowing the cool air to flow away from the vineyard. This allows the vineyard to be a late harvest, with extended fruit hangtime. Developing flavors that cannot be achieved in other areas of the AVA.  We source Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese from Lewis Vineyards.

 

Pontin del Roza Vineyards - Yakima Valley AVA
Pontin del Roza Vineyard is located southeast of Prosser in the Yakima Valley AVA. The Pontins treat the vine in an "Old World" Italian style, allowing the vine and berries to develop distinct fruit characteristics. This area is generally cooler, allowing the sugars in the berries to develop more slowly. The resulting wines are fruit forward, fun and easy drinking. We source Pinot Gris and Dolcetto from Pontin del Roza Vineyard.

 

 

 

 

 

Doebler Vineyard - Wahluke Slope AVA
Doebler Vineyard is located in Mattawa, Washington in the Columbia River Basin. Wines grown in this area have a distinct mineral component. This coupled with the long hot days and during ripening, cool evenings, produce wines of distinction and ageing capability. We source Sangiovese, from Doebler.

 

Clifton Vineyard – Wahluke Slope AVA
Clifton Vineyard is located in Mattawa, Washington in the Columbia River Basin. Wines grown in this area have a distinct mineral component. This coupled with the long hot days and during ripening, cool evenings, produce wines of distinction and ageing capability. We source Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot from Clifton Vineyard.

 

Rosebud Ranch - Wahluke Slope AVA
Rosebud Ranch Vineyard is located southeast of Vantage, Washington in the Columbia River Basin, about 10 miles east of Mattawa, Washington. We source an Italian varietal Barbera and Pinot Gris from Rosebud Ranch Vineyard.

 

Stoneridge Vineyard - Wahluke Slope AVA
Stoneridge Vineyard is located between Royal City and Othello, Washington in the Columbia River Basin, about 10 miles east of Mattawa, Washington. We source an Italian varietal Sangiovese from Stoneridge Vineyard.
